SEALLADH SITHEIL (Peaceful outlook) is a renovated croft house available for self-catering holiday
rental. (sleeps 4-6)
Situated in Badenscallie in the majestic scenery of the Coigach peninsula, 20 miles north of Ullapool and 2 miles south of Achiltibuie, the house
offers tranquility and magnificent views over the summer Isles, only 100yds from the beach, with miles of unspoilt rugged coastline to explore or
head off uphill to the impressive Ben Mhor Coigach. Wildlife abounds for the observant with whales, seals, porpoises, eagles, deer, otters and
much more or simply relax and let the ever changing light, sunsets or northern lights wash over you.
Built c 1900 on the site of a traditional black house, SEALLADH SITHEIL stands within a deer fenced plot along with a ruined byre and a steading.
The house maintains some original features along with wood panelling and insulation to a high standard making it cosy and easy to heat. The
property is accessible by car up a short track from the single track road, please keep the gate closed to save our trees from the local sheep!
In Achiltibuie you can find the shop, post office, The Summer Isles Hotel, bar and restaurant. There is
also the Coigach Community Hall (Doctor, Nurse, library, internet access, snooker table, showers,
ceilidhs and much more…)
Other activities in the area range from cruises to the Summer Isles to trout and salmon fishing on loch
and river.
How to get there,
Inverness is the nearest airport.
Garve is the nearest train station.
There are buses from Inverness to Ullapool. These connect with the Achiltibuie Postbus that can leave you at the end of our track.
By car continue North from Ullapool on the A835 some 10 miles to the signposted junction to Achiltibuie. Turn left here onto the single track
road. Take it easy and enjoy the scenery, after some 12 miles you pass through Achiltibuie, continue on through Polglass to Badenscallie.
